Darkmoon Faire Championship

The map for the upcoming DMF WoW Miniatures tournament is confirmed! Players can now officially plan their strategies around this Winterspring map complete with terrain and VP. Please take note however, that this Winterspring map is NOT the same as the Winterspring map used in previous Miniatures tournaments.

If you look closely, the terrain differs slightly from the previous ones. So, there you have it, we would love to hear from our players what do you guys think about this map in general. The pros and cons of the map, what you like and what you don't like about the map etc.

World of Wararcft 3v3 Arena Tournament FAQ

    1) Which season is the tournament based on?

Although the game patch is version 3.1.1, the 3v3 Tournament will be based on Season 5 (Deadly/Hateful) gear.

    2) How many NPCs are available for queuing up? How are the players paired up for the Arena matches? Is it randomized or are there seperate NPCs for each arena match?

The Arena NPCs are all the regular ones, and there is an additional Arena Battlemaster sitting outside the Dalaran bank. Match ups-wise, it would be the same as how it is currently in game in WoW, meaning that the system will pair players up automatically.

    3) How about class trainers for skills etc?

There are all the regular class trainers in game, as well as a row of NPC trainers along the steps of the Dalaran banks. This includes Hunter pets as well.

    4) Are there gear vendors? Enchants and gems?

Yes there are gear, enchants, gems & glyph vendors all around the banks in Dalaran. Do note that Naxx25 KT items are not in the list though. The list of items are the same as those in http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/tournament/items.xml

    5) Does my character come with gold?

Yes, if you don't have enough gold for whatever reason, you can request more gold from the vendor in Dalaran =).

    6) Are the characters pre-generated already and at maxed level upon creation?

Yes they are. The characters upon logging in have alpha-numeric names, so the players would need to change them before they are able to log-in.
There are all 10 different classes per account, and the accounts are split between Horde and Alliance. Race/class combinations are fixed so don't be alarmed if you cannot play for a Dwarf Warrior for example.

    7) How many teams are allowed to take part?

There will be a maximum of 64 teams. The first round of 64 will be a single elimination format followed by 3 best of 3 matches from the round of 32 onwards.

    8) Is there a registration fee involved?

Yes, there is a registration fee of $30 per team.

    9) Am I allowed to bring my own AddOns? How about my own mouse and keyboard?

No AddOns are allowed. You are allowed to bring your personal mouse, keyboard and peripherals, but you are not allowed to download any drivers so your device must be plug and play.
